The 8" cherry bowl has a 3/4" band of a good grade of plywood (a scrap from another project).  I didn't have trouble putting the pieces together or sanding them but I did have to fill a few very small voids in the plywood with sawdust and CA glue.  Not sure but a lower grade of plywood may or may not have bigger voids.

The 11" Walnut candle holder with glass globe was turned while the wood was still a little bit green. I did a final fit for the globe but accidentally left it on the candle holder for a few days and now it's attached to the wood permanently - the fit is that tight.

And a Clean Shop - when Tina couldn't get to the chop saw to trim a piece of wood for a shelving project she started in.  It took us three days to organize, clean and  reevaluate my system.  I have to admit it was past time, things were thrown all over the workbench and the floor was a real "trip" hazard.  As soon as I get used to the new order,  I'll be able to find everything I need to turn.
